Visa Bulletin Alert by Immigratoin Road

Just like you, we can’t wait to see the new visa bulletin each month. After all, it practically determines who can file for I-485 and who is eligible to receive their green card.

So, starting from the 8th, we find ourselves constantly checking the Department of State’s website. However, we’ve been seeing the “Coming Soon” page a lot lately.

DOS used to release new visa bulletins right around the 10th of each month, but nowadays it can be 13th or even 14th. So we get tired after checking multiple times a day.

As geeks, we naturally turned to computer and automation. We wrote a little program that checks it for us. And not surprisingly, it indeed saved us a lot of time.

So we thought maybe our visitors would like to save time as well.

Welcome to the all new Visa Bulletin Alert. As soon as we see the new visa bulletin posted, we will send a quick email to let you know as well.

You can sign up here:

We’re also working on potentially sending text message alerts. But these are too expensive for now and can only help people already living in the United States.

The Department of State does provide their own alert, but for some reason, they’re usually very late, even days late. I’ve been on their mailing forever and never once got the alert before I already knew the VB was out.

Now, about privacy. At ImmigrationRoad.com, we always treat visitor privacy very seriously. For 12 years, we never compiled even one mailing list, despite numerous emails sent to us throughout the years. The primary reason is that we don’t want to store user information and risk losing them. Since we don’t send out marketing emails or advertisement, why bother?

Now with Visa Bulletin Alert, we think it adds value and is worth the effort to create our first mailing list. To protect user information, we rely on a reputable, well-known third party subscriber management company. They are not cheap, and depending on the number of subscribers, can be quite expensive actually. But they know how to protect user data, and that’s all that matters.

In addition, we only collect email addresses anyway. Even your name is optional.

Having said all this, please understand one important thing: This is still a Beta program. We’ll see how the VB Alert works, and if there are enough people interested. We reserve the right to cancel the service at any time. In such case, we’ll certainly let you know and delete the mailing list permanently.
