Green Card Lottery DV-2011 Results

This page contains FY-2011 Diversity Visa (DV) results. DV is more widely known as Green Card Lottery. Data in the table below include the total number of DV applicants by country, number of lottery winners, chances of winning, and final number of people who actually went through the process and obtained green cards.

As discussed in the green card lottery overview, winning the lottery doesn't guarantee a green card. Instead, one still has to meet all eligibility requirements for an immigrant visa or adjustment of status, and must complete the application process by the end of the fiscal year. Also, the Department of State always selects more entries than DV visas available, anticipating that some of them may be ineligible or choose not to proceed with a visa application.

  • Chargeability: Foreign State of Chargeability (basically the country).
  • Entrants: Applicants who entered the diversity visa lottery.
  • Derivatives: Eligible relatives of DV applicants.
  • Winners: People who were selected by DOS, i.e., won the lottery.
  • Odds: Winning Percentage, which is the number of lottery winners divided by the sum of entrants and derivatives.
